Snipe Hunt Mixed Media Painting - Sold

Snipes are secretive wetland birds with beautiful markings. This one was feeding in a marsh. I named this piece from fond memories going on snipe hunts at summer camp. The scary toothsome imaginary snipes we 'hunted' with brooms and paper bags in the dark were nothing like the real life little bird!

A mixed media painting using a field sketch and some buried charcoal found in the garden from a wood stove clean out. The frame is custom made by the artist from an old piece of furniture.
